My first attempt at a storyboard. I am planning on having a narrator speaking over the animation.
After counselling with the teachers and seeing the comments on my blog I may want to change my introduction.
In this alternative storyboard I’ve changed the order in which things happens. Its starting already in the kitchen. the kid sit down removes the gas mask. indicating that he need it to go out. then he watches the TV. This will be my way of establishing the world. the news guy can say something similar to “450s day following the nuclear annihilation, food never been so difficult to find. But thanks to Yumeat you can get your daily protein and vitamin dose!” then it advertise it saying how good it is.
The TV narrator can be the main narrator of the story. Also can interact with the kid. As if the TV could actually hear and see him. Sounds a bit scary but It’s a trope i’ve seen quite a lot it kids TVC
Personally, I prefer the last alterations you have made with your storyboard whereby the fact that it’s a post-apocalyptic is revealed in the television. I think it suits your animation better so good job on that. I also really love that you’ve got the colours down for your storyboard and it really reveals how your animation would turn out. I love the colours you have decided to go for and I honestly can’t wait for the finished product! All the best, Adele!
I love the colours abel! The storyboard was clear too! And I agree with faith too. The last storyboard suits the whole theme better and makes the storyline compelling and stronger. Each frame is clear and easy to understand so good job on that! Hope to see more of your work!
The disgusting chewing, forced smile, and happy bugs – the storyboards are hilarious!
I think you can try writing different scripts to see whether it’s better to have the narrator interact with the boy or not. Personally, I think it would be fun if you make the narrator say really good things about the product, while at the same time having the boy force himself to agree (nodding his head or something) while reacting in a way that shows the food being the exact opposite of what the narrator is saying.
thank you shifa! Yes I though about this, unfortunately I am running out of time, 30s is not enough to to this kind of stuff, but thanks that’s a nice idea! :^)
